Hello! My name is Katharine Young. My first job was at Montessori Parent's Co-Op as a teacher's aide. This is what jump started my love of teaching. It was fulfilling helping kids understand a concept, seeing that spark in their eyes, telling me "Oh, now I get it!" I enjoyed seeing them every day and we got along well. I believe this is because I am still a kid at heart and have a great imagination. I feel the purpose of education is to give kids the tools to be successful in life. They also need a secure, stimulating, and respectful environment to promote their learning. I adore working with children because every day is unique. Each child brings a certain perspective to the day. I am a nanny for two wonderful boys. They are four and six years old. I started working for the family six years ago when the older boy was seven months old. This experience along with my schooling at College of Saint Mary has worked hand and hand to prepare me for my future in teaching. I will soon have a Early Childhood Inclusive degree, (Birth to Third Grade). I am currently student teaching in Kindergarten.
