Through my case study during student teaching I investigated students learning sight words and the basics of reading. Sight words are an integral part in reading. These are the words children need to know because they are the most frequently used in reading. The conclusions I drew through this unit were repetition and practice is key in order to help with retention. I also concluded the benefit of small groups. I was able to see what each student could do.
